A Big Step Forward: post-op update
Last Friday, April 25th, Kerry underwent a cranioplasty surgery at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. For those who may not be familiar, a cranioplasty is a surgical procedure to repair or replace part of the skull that was previously removed—often done to help protect the brain, restore the skull’s natural shape, and improve neurological function. It’s a critical step in Kerry’s healing process, and we are so grateful to report that the surgery was a success!
Thanks to the excellent care he received and Kerry’s incredible resilience, doctors are optimistic that he will be able to return to Kessler Rehabilitation Center later this week to continue his recovery.
Before the surgery, we were already seeing encouraging signs: Kerry began showing slight movements on the right side of his body—a huge milestone—and his left eye started opening up more consistently. Each small step has felt like a major victory, and his strength and determination continue to inspire all of us.
Thank you again for all your prayers, positive thoughts, and support. It means the world to Kerry and to all of us who love him. We’ll continue to keep you updated as he continues to move through this next phase of rehabilitation.
With the power of hope,
